Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day 1: The Best and the Grumpy

It's day 1 of sneak peeks for the May release from Taylored Expressions!! This release bring all the products we need to move out of the school year and into the summer, along with the usual array of fun extras!  Today I am creating for my men (the Best in the World!) and my crafty friends (who really aren't grumpy at all!)

Be sure to check out all of the other designers starting on the Taylored Expressions blog because there is just too much for one designer to show off in just a few days.

All the products that I have used are linked at the bottom, but remember that new products aren't available until Thursday, May 5, 7 a.m. PST.

Taylored Expressions is celebrating Release Week with some fabulous giveaways! Visit the TE blog to answer Taylor's Question of the Day for a chance to win a prize from the latest release!

Best in the World

The new Best in the World stamp set is one of those basic sets that work for a wide variety of occasions and people. It's one of those versatile sets that's fun, but very useful - we will definitely get our money's worth out of it. I particularly like that the "people" are separate stamps so you can fit them in and use different colors to make them stand out.

TE Best in the World

I had to start with "Uncle". My brother (my kid's uncle) and his family are huge travelers. My sister-in-law is the queen at finding amazing deals. It seems like they can be gone for weeks and partake in every possible tourist attraction and spend less than I do for a weekend at our condo in the mountains. Before they had children, she made it her mission to take my brother on adventures - different countries and different experiences, like swimming with the dolphins.  Now they have two small girls, so it's more family-oriented - as I type they are spending two weeks in Tennessee with Dollywood being a regular destination.

I love the new Whole Wide World die- fabulous detail! And it pairs perfectly with the sentiment. Plus, there's a new set of frames - the Stitched Frame Stacklets 1. I said in a recent post that I can't seem to make anything without a "frame". A simple stitched frame like this one finishes off the card (without being distracting) and keeps focus right where you want it.

Here's the supply list for this card. Remember - the links won't work until the release on Thursday! Be sure to scrolling, because there's a "grumpling" coming after the supply list!

Crafty Grumplings

Yay!!  New Grumplings!!  And these are directed at us and our favorite hobby!!

TE Craft Grumplings 2

Every Grumpling set makes me giggle. My family (of men and boys) actually know about "grumplings" because I've had to explain multiple times why I am giggling. All the sentiments are so spot-on. This time I laughed extra hard because one of the new sentiments that I will definitely be using on my men/boys is "don't make me crop you!"

I have had the Bracket Notecard die for some time and used it multiple times for little gift enclosures. (Here's a full set using some very expressive dog stamps.) Now the die is even more useful with the release of the Stitched Bracket Stacklets. The set includes six stacked dies and this one fits perfectly in the bracket notecard.

Since I had the Stitched Bracket Stacklet on which to stamp, I could create a fun background. Since the stamp talks about paper, I used a variety of cardstock!  First I cut the Bracket Notecard. Then I cut four 3/4" wide strips of cardstock (the length doesn't matter at this point, it just needs to hang off the edge of the card). I adhered one edge along the fold of the card, starting with the middle two so they met at the point and fully covering the front (the back is still the white cardstock that I used to initially cut the notecard). Then I used the Bracket Notecard die again to re-cut it so that all of my colored strips are now cut in the same shape.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for some "happy trails" and we'll "go beep"!  In the meantime, don't forget to head over to the Taylored Expressions blog to answer the question for a chance at prizes - and to check out all of the other sneak peeks from the rest of the design team!
